The story

A thousand years ago, the dark sorceress Castomira sought to plunge the land of Arcus into chaos and eternal darkness. Princess Leaty, a sorceress of light, defeated and banished her – but foresaw her possible return. Now Castomira is back. Four heroes must stand against her: Jeddah the swordsman, Erin the warrior maiden, Diana the elven archer, and Bead the dark mage. Eight stages of ruined temples, mystic caverns, and treacherous landscapes stand between them and the final confrontation.

Gameplay

Arcus Odyssey features isometric action RPG gameplay with four distinct characters, each with their own strengths, attacks and spells. The game can be played alone or with a friend in co-op – a highlight for anyone who wants to tackle the adventure together. All eight stages offer varied environments and demand both combat skill and tactical thinking.

The Collector's Edition

This official re-release by Retro-Bit Publishing is compatible with original SEGA Genesis and Mega Drive consoles as well as most third-party consoles. Licensing has been updated for this release.

The long-storied legacy of Wolf Team, who would eventually go on to develop the Tales series, had its origins in the arcades and home PCs from where they began the Arcus series on the MSX. As a first-person RPG, its success would lead to the sequels Arcus II: Silent Symphony and Arcus III. Before the third entry, two spinoffs would emerge. The first was a parody game for the PC-88, and the other was Arcus Odyssey, the series's first home console entry. This isometric action RPG lets you and a friend adventure together to save the land of Arcus from the evil Castomira, who has returned after a thousand years.
