One of the first games designed by Takashi Iizuka, the game was developed in 1992, but was cancelled before ever being announced. Iizuka kept a near finished build of the game, and after learning of its existence, Sega producer Yosuke Okunari suggested it be included in the game lineup for the Sega Genesis Mini 2 dedicated console, which was released in 2022.[77]
