This is a hack of the infamous Fantasia game for Megadrive.This game is known mainly for 2 reasons : a controversy about the rights of the Fantasia movie led to the game being retired from salesit’s a very flawed game in many aspects, and was a huge deception for those who, like the hacker at that time, thought it’d be another Castle of IllusionThe game is bad for several reasons, among which :1) the playability is awful. Mickey is too animated, and there are huge input lags because of that. Moreover, you lose momentum when landing from a jump or when you turn. Same for swimming segments2) Hit detection is broken, with too big hotboxes, when they are not totally misplaced3) the level design is dull, with hordes of enemies put here and there4) the musics are atrocious, with horrible renditions of classical tunesThis hack tries to fix the first point. More precisely :turnover, jump preparation and reception animations are removed, and Mickey keeps his momentum. It makes the game much more enjoyableswimming physics is lighter : when not using button C, you don’t sink anymore (you must press “down” for that)hitbox have been refined a little : they stay too big when you attack (making attack easy), but are shrunk when you’re being attacked (making defense easier). It’s far from perfect though, since the hitbox system of the game is quite primitive2 cheat codes have been implemented: - at title screen, press ABC + Start and you’ll be more or less invulnerable during the game (be careful though when falling in a hole, it can lead to a game breaking bug) - during the game, when paused, press ABC + right to go to next scene in the current stage, or ABC + up to go to the first scene of the next stageMusics aren’t edited because the hacker is not musician, but if you made some covers of the tunes of the game for Genesis, or know someone who did, he’d be interested in trying to replace the original songs.
