BRING THE DARKNESS BACK TO SEGA MEGA DRIVE

Mega Darkula brings the frantic old-school arcade experience of Darkula, originally created by Locomalito, to the SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis.

A long time ago, a group of legendary monsters joined forces to create Deviland Park, an extraordinary amusement park for creatures of the night. But there is a problem: after years surrounded by dazzling lights, darkness has almost disappeared.

Darkula has had enough.

His mission is simple: turn off every light and bring darkness back to Deviland Park!
PURE OLD-SCHOOL ARCADE GAMEPLAY

Mega Darkula follows the philosophy of the great fixed-screen arcade games of the early 1980s.

Run, jump, climb ladders and remove every light bulb from each stage while avoiding enemies, hazards and everything else Deviland Park throws at you.

Darkula cannot simply fight his way through his enemies. Movement, timing, route planning and mastering each screen are the keys to survival.

Easy to understand. Difficult to master.

And dangerously addictive.
PLAY FOR THE HIGH SCORE

Finishing each stage is only part of the challenge.

Collect the flashing bulbs consecutively to build increasingly valuable scoring chains. Move quickly, take risks and don't miss the special items that appear throughout the game if you want to push your score even higher.

Mega Darkula is an arcade game designed to be played again and again.

Learn every screen. Perfect your routes. Take greater risks.

And beat your high score.
SIX STAGES, BONUS ROUNDS AND A SECOND LOOP

The adventure features six main stages, two bonus stages and a second, more difficult loop for players who think they have already mastered Deviland Park.

Completing the first run is only the beginning.
INSPIRED BY THE GOLDEN AGE OF ARCADES

Darkula was conceived with the spirit of the golden age of arcade gaming: straightforward mechanics, immediate controls and gameplay built around skill, learning and high scores.

Mega Darkula brings that philosophy to a machine where it feels perfectly at home: SEGA's legendary 16-bit hardware.
A VERSION CREATED FOR MEGA DRIVE / GENESIS

Mega Darkula is a dedicated version of the original Darkula for SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis.

This edition adapts the game to SEGA's 16-bit console with dedicated 16-bit graphics by Richard Fhager "Downbringer"", a Mega Drive version by Moonwatcher, and music by original Darkula composer Gryzor87.

The result combines the straightforward arcade philosophy of the original with the unmistakable character of the Mega Drive / Genesis.
MEGAQR ONLINE LEADERBOARDS

The high-score challenge doesn't have to end when you switch off your console.

Mega Darkula features PlayOnRetro's MEGAQR system, extending the traditional arcade score-chasing experience beyond the Mega Drive itself.

MEGAQR allows players to connect their achievements on classic hardware with PlayOnRetro's online environment and compete for a place in the rankings.

Classic arcade competition meets the connected world.
TURN OFF THE LIGHTS

Deviland Park is waiting.

Learn its stages. Find the best routes. Master every jump. Chase every point. Survive the second loop.

Turn off the lights. Bring back the night. Get the highest score.
