After the release of Mutant League Football (1993) and Mutant League Hockey (1994), a third entry related to the sport of basketball was teased, though it never materialized. While no reason was given, by the time 1995 was around, publisher Electronic Arts was shifting its focus to the Sega Saturn and PlayStation 1.[193]
