About
The Cassette Vision was an early cartridge-based home video game console released by Epoch in Japan in 1981.
Before the arrival of Nintendo's Family Computer (NES in North America), it became one of the popular home video game systems in Japan and holds a unique place in the country's early video game history.
On a sudden whim, I decided to port PakPak Monster, a Cassette Vision game I used to play many years ago, to the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.
It's a very simple game, but I hope this port gives you a chance to experience a little piece of classic Japanese video game history.
The Game
You are PakPak Man.
Your goal is to eat all the food on the screen.
That's all there is to it!
Normal Food Eat the same piece of food three times and it will disappear.
Power Food Eat this and you'll be able to turn the tables on the monsters and fight back!
Mystery Bonus Grab one to receive a random bonus worth between 50 and 300 points.
Chasing Monster Slowly but surely, this monster will keep coming after you.
Fickle Monster Who knows what this guy is thinking?
Controls
D-Pad: Move up, down, left, and right.
A Button: Continue from the result screen.
START Button: Start the game.
How to Play
To play on a real Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, transfer the ROM file to a compatible flash cartridge.
If you don't own the original hardware, you can also play the game using a Mega Drive / Genesis emulator.
