ROBOCOP MD by Boca's Retro Stuff

For every arcade rat who poured quarters into Data East's legendary RoboCop cabinet, hearing that explosive FM synthesized audio and seeing Murphy on the big screen, a proper Genesis port was the ultimate dream. While 8-bit systems got their really disappointing conversions, the SEGA Mega Drive, the premier 16-bit machine built for fast-paced arcade action, was criminally left behind.

RoboCop MD exists to fix this history.

This project is built from the ground up to feel like a real 16-bit cartridge release from 1990. Heavy FM synth, punchy arcade action, crisp pixel art, and authentic Mega Drive performance. It’s designed to be the exact game you wished you could have brought home for Christmas '90 or '91 to plug straight into your Model 1 "High Definition Graphics" console.
Notes from the Developer:

This started as a solo passion project by Boca to fulfill that childhood dream and learn the secrets of SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis development using SGDK and also with the help of AI to speed up C coding only.

What began as a solo effort took a huge leap forward when the incredible Italian producer, composer, and musician LukeMcQueen reached out to join the project.
He stepped in to handle the soundtrack, creating mind-blowing 16-bit YM2612 versions of the original arcade music that push the Genesis FM chip to its absolute limits, and gave the port the soul it needed to become something really professional.

This game will be made free to play on release. For now, please enjoy the Demo.

Please note that this is a WORK IN PROGRESS and that what is in this demo is not necessarily the final versions of art, color, sound, or music. There may be bugs as well. They will be fixed. There is tuning to be done and it will be done.

We're focused on capturing the authentic feel of a late-80s/early-90s arcade home port, leveraging the Mega Drive / Genesis hardware abilities to its fullest.
