The teams, lineups, and formations have been recreated based on the 1997 and 1998 seasons, combining elements from the Super Nintendo versions of Ronaldinho Soccer 97 and Ronaldinho Soccer 98 in order to represent that era as faithfully as possible.
Main improvements:
Corrected jersey numbers for many players;
Adjusted player, hair, and uniform colors;
Corrected player names;
Updated player attributes;
Revised team formations, lineups, and rosters;
Corrected stadium backgrounds and stadium names;
Improved in-game messages (throw-in, corner kick, goal kick, yellow card, and red card);
Changed goalkeeper uniform colors to prevent confusion with outfield players;
New opening sequence using the original Ronaldinho Soccer artwork;
Replaced the opening theme with the original Ronaldinho Soccer 98 soundtrack from the Super Nintendo version;
Fixed the flags that previously flickered during gameplay;
Corrected most of the team names that were cut off in the halftime statistics screen when playing as Player 1.
I would like to express my special thanks to ApiohMan, the creator of an outstanding editing tool that made this project possible. In addition to developing this fantastic software, he was always willing to answer questions and share his knowledge, which was invaluable throughout the development of this ROM.
Although not every limitation of the ROM could be resolved, approximately 80% of the known issues have been fixed, resulting in a much more faithful, polished, and enjoyable experience. The goal of this project is to deliver the best possible version of Ronaldinho Soccer 98 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis while preserving the identity of the original game and correcting many of the flaws present in the original ROM.
