Shining Force 2 - Return to Grans is a “remastered and rebalanced” version of the original game.Dialogue in the game has been vastly reworked - about 40% of all text passages have been altered, replacing the oftentimes bland writing of the original.Most of the not so appealing graphics in vanilla SF2 have been improved/replaced, such as the battle sprites of the Vicars or the Archers.Difficulty has been reworked by tweaking enemies’ stats, skills and numbers on the battlefield. Battles will usually appear familiar, but will often play out quite differently thanks to new abilities, magic spells and some surprises.Party members have been rebalanced greatly, as to make all characters useful in their respective roles; e.g. Kiwi is now a useful companion, Peter is no longer the one-man-army from before, Karna is no longer strictly superior to Sarah.Gameplay-wise, the hack will require you to play more tactical; careful positioning and a well-thought-out composition of your party are more important than in the original game.v.1.15 update highlights:New difficulty setting for those who want a little more casual journeySlight decrease of difficulty in the endgame; fixed a few bugs with the final battle in particularNew weapon tier can be purchased in Moun, closing the gap between Pacalon and the Mithril BlacksmithFurther rebalancing Mithril and cursed weapons as to make all of them useful in the endgameSorcerers can now drain MP from enemies to fuel their spells
