In 2018, Traveller's Tales founder Jon Burton disclosed that the company had worked on a video game adaption of the 1993 SWAT Kats animated television show separate from Hudson Soft's 1995 video game adaption for the SNES. Traveller's Tales' version for the Genesis had previously gone unannounced, and while in active development, was cancelled prior to completion.[275]
