A video game adaption of The Mask (1994) was announced for SNES, Game Gear, and the Sega Genesis. However, development was slow and took longer than expected to complete, leading to the development team cancelling the Sega platforms in order to focus on releasing the SNES version, which released a year after the film's release in late 1995.[168]
