Sega Technical Institute proposed an isometric perspective Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Sega Genesis, similar, but unrelated to, Traveller's Tales later release Sonic 3D Blast (1996). Development never continued beyond the concept art phase, one piece of which leaked onto the internet well after its cancellation.[255]
